Sophie Richings - Principal and Musical Director

Born in Swindon and from a musical family, Sophie's love of music was evident from an early age. As a child Sophie always pretended to be a choir mistress and put on shows for the family. At the age of 6, she began singing lessons and started working towards her ABRSM Grades. Sophie has trained with a large Show Choir and took instruction from Vocal Coaches including Janice Thompson to gain her Grades and Diploma in Musical Theatre. For dancing, Sophie trained at The Tanwood School of Dance and later attended Summer Workshops at Performing Arts Schools including Laines Theatre Arts. She has taken part in many Music Festivals and competitions and has successfully completed voice grades 1-7 with the Associated Board (ABRSM) and Grade 8 Musical Theatre (LCM). Sophie has gained her Diploma in Musical Theatre with the London College of Music. She also attained Grades 1-5 Piano and Theory (ABRSM) and is continuing her own development by attending workshops and undertaking training to become a Certified Estill Teacher (refer to www.estillvoice.com) to ensure that each of her students receives the very best in vocal tuition, understands the importance of technique and how to improve their voice whilst staying healthy.
Sophie has sung in many performances of Bill Kenwright’s touring production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and A Tribute to Abba plus various other shows and private performances. Whilst living in Ireland, Sophie took part in various productions and pantomines. She reached the quarter finals of the All Ireland singing competition and was the chosen soloist for Elaine Paige on her visit to Ireland. When time permits Sophie sings and performs as a backing singer to her brother, Rob Richings, who is a singer/song writer.
At the age of 16 Sophie took up a full time place at The Judith Hockaday School of Dance and Drama where she completed her “Foundation in Dance Instruction” (FDI) and “Certificate in Dance Instruction” (CDI) in ISTD Imperial Ballet, National Dance, Modern Theatre Dance and Tap Dance. Performance

Godspell, Bugsy Malone (Fizzy), Fiddler on
the Roof (Hodel), The Sound of Music (Brigitta). She was also a dancer for BBC's Tess of the D'urbervilles. Her passion for performing has seen her sing locally with SALOS and Ten In a Bar.
Today, Sophie is successfully running her own Music School offering a diverse range of classes, 1:1 private tuition and workshops to offer people of all ages and all abilities the opportunity to sing. Sophie previously taught at the Judith Hockaday School of Dance tutoring students in Musical Theatre and various genres of Dance.
Sophie also trained the senior students in the College in Musical Theatre and Voice. She has over the years worked at and delivered workshops for various Dance and Performing Arts Schools in both the UK and Ireland. Sophie happily offers local schools workshops for their students and will undertake Corporate Team Building Days to inspire, motivate and build confidence. She has worked with over 100 pupils at the Commonweal School undertaking a day of Glee style music and a primary school with their end of year production. Workshops are best to be undertaken at our Studios but we will work with students/employees at their place of school/work. Sophie performs at various events throughout the country and is qualified to offer Voice Coaching and Choreography.
With 13 years of teaching experience behind her, 'Everybody Sing' is rapidly becoming a fast growing venture with something to suit everyone from Choirs to Glee Clubs, Close Harmony Groups, Private Vocal and Performance Tuition to Musical Theatre, Musical Theatre Classes for children ages 4-17 and Adult Musical Theatre for those who love singing, acting and performing. Everybody Sing has it's own Theatre Company for ages 7 to 16 yrs where students train in the Arts to perform in full Musical Productions (generally two shows per year). The school also offers Piano, Theory and Drama (both private 1:1 lessons and group classes).
Sophie and her team offer ad hoc lessons to anyone for that special occasions or for students who wish to audition for Performing Arts Colleges or Shows. Students learn in an inclusive environment. Sophie will enter students for examinations under the ABRSM, LCM or Trinity Boards covering all styles of music. LAMDA exams are also being offered. Her choirs have undertaken charity performances at the Christmas Lights switch on and have sung for various Care Homes and for the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust in Swindon.
Sophie is sure that her love and passion for singing and music will be passed on to all her students.
Everybody Sing is delighted to have worked alongside Headways delivering Music Sessions to people with a brain injury and on behalf of BARNARDOs across Wiltshire (Salisbury, Marlborough, Trowbridge and Chippenham). We have also delivered music sessions for those people living with Dementia and for adults and children with additional needs. The value and power of singing as a form of therapy certainly shines through in watching students engage and interacting in these classes.
Throughout her 30+ year career in Law (Legal Dept/Litigation and Conveyancing and later as a Consultant supporting people with health conditions, Kerry has for over two decades been involved with Music, Choirs and Performing Arts schools.
Kerry has always used her strong interpersonal and negotiation skills she has assisted many organisations with their promotions, PR and Marketing campaigns. Kerry has an appealing management style and with a warm personality and a genuine interest in people. From the early days of being part of a School’s PTA to Chaperoning for the Kentwood Show Choir, she has been ‘out front’ undertaking activities and has carefully masterminded many events and campaigns. Kerry has reached out to a variety of people in the media to address a full spectrum of publicity and marketing needs. In her working career Kerry has supported people with diverse needs and her belief and passion to enable each person to unfold his or her potential has resulted in many life-changing outcomes. She brings this belief to Everybody Sing to ensure a warm and friendly environment is maintained where people will be encouraged to participate, grow in confidence and most of all enjoy themselves!
Kerry takes a proactive approach to any new venture. She has such belief and takes responsibility for the expansion and quality
of forging links with everyone to build and maintain strong relationships.
As a Director of Everybody Sing, Kerry has been instrumental in our success of establishing links with our Patron, Maureen Nolan. Being self-motivated and with a confident and a positive approach, Kerry uses her excellent organizational skills to organise and manage the school on a day to day basis. Kerry co-ordinates many events and some past events include the heading up of a team to arrange and organise the visit of Elaine Paige OBE to Ireland and for two consecutive years, the visit of the Kentwood Show Choir to perform in Ireland. Kerry managed the organisation of the Press, Publicity, travel, accommodation, hospitality and various trips out. She booked the theatres and managed with the support of her team to sell the tickets independently for the shows. In 2015 Kerry organised two successful trips for students and friends to attend Theatres to have a personal pre show Meet & Greet with Maureen Nolan and the cast of Blood Brothers. In December Kerry organised our first ESMA - Everybody Sing Music Awards which was a huge success. The school also undertook Stars in Your Eyes and Everybody Sing's Got Talent along with many more successful events.
In previous years Kerry has organised themed events such as ‘The Good Old Days’, Strictly Come Dancing and Who Wants to be a Millionaire and Music nights to raise money for Charity. She has used her influencing skills to convince several prominent stars to attend private events and give of their time.
Kerry has been nominated for and won Excellence awards for ‘Making a Difference’ and ‘Achieving the Best". With a natural flair to engage and organise, extraordinary leadership skills and a positive outlook, we know that Kerry will be a highly regarded and valuable person to have as a Director of Everybody Sing.
Zoe joined Everybody Sing in September 2017. Since then Zoe's background has shown to be the perfect blend of skills that
has supported Everybody Sing to go from strength to strength.
Zoe started her career by qualifying in her Associates with the ISTD (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance) in Modern, Tap and
National faculties. This built from a successful childhood in dance, singing and drama with the Judith Hockaday School of Dance
and Drama, where Zoe gained Advanced vocational ISTD Examinations and LAMDA Examinations also. Zoe competed frequently and was often placed in all disciplines of dance in many festivals across the UK, this success continued within larger
awards such as, The Marjorie Davies Star Tap Award, All England and Grandison Clark where Zoe continued to be placed or win
her sections. This landed Zoe an appearance and an opportunity to Dance on Blue Peter, with some now well known celebrities such as Jennifer Ellison.
Zoe then went in to Theatre Arts professionally and was often known to be sailing in the Mediterranean or Caribbean on cruise ships, including Costa Cruises then Flag ship, The Atlantica, with its 1000 seat theatre. Another of Zoe's Successes was being a cast member of 'Tap Fusion' a show that toured the UK that had come over from New York. Zoe has performed in countless trade shows such as British Hot Shots, representing Hairdressers Journal Magazine and Comic Reliefs: Big Hair Do Show in London as an example. Zoe also choreographed for many trade shows, representing or directly working for brands such as L'Oreal and Schwarzkopf both in the UK and overseas.
Zoe has some experience on set and even appeared in a few films. After a successful time in Theatre Arts, Zoe focused on her teaching skills and used this to work her way up in the business world to a senior operations management level, which she has now held for just over 10 years. Zoe has extensive experience and a proven track record in all aspects of operational management, to include, HR, performance delivery, business planning, continuous improvement, change management, project planning and delivery to name but a few. Zoe has supported and operationally managed up to circ 150 employees with team managers as direct reports linking training and coaching as key part of Zoe's career to date. Zoe has also had award success in business, winning the 'Sales team of the Year' at the National Sales Awards held in London annually representing her previous employers blue chip partner.
Natalie joined Everybody Sing in September 2016. She started performing at a dance school in Newquay at the age
of 2 and started singing in a church choir at the age of 5. Natalie began taking piano lessons whilst at Secondary school and
gained an A Grade in GCSE Music.
Natalie went on to study a BTEC National Diploma in Performing Arts, which included NCFE Music, Dance and Drama along with
Technical Theatre and the History of Theatre. Natalie undertook a National Higher Diploma in make up and costume design for
Theatre at the Worcester College of Technology, School of Art and Design.
Natalie has a wealth of experience in Singing, Performing, Directing and Musical Theatre, which can be attributed to
Pantomimes, Swindon Youth Projects, SALOS, Chocolate Theatre Society and much more. She has taken lead roles (Tracey in Hairspray being one such show) and has wonderful experiences as Musical Director, Assistant Musical Director and Chorus Mistress to lead roles, supporting roles, band member and Choreographer. During her time in the Summer Youth Projects Natalie was selected to be a soloist for the Mayor's 30th Anniversary Gala.
Since 2017 Natalie has supported with the Directing of shows for the Everybody Sing Theatre Company. She now works alongside the Principal with ESTC and their next Production Guys and Dolls. Natalie is ambitious and is keen to develop her skills as she attends Estill Training in London to ensure she offers the very best of teaching to her students.
Natalie is delighted to be part of Everybody Sing. In the immortal words of John Miles, Natalie says:

Piano & Music Theory Teacher
Miss Andrea joined Everybody Sing in August 2017. Andrea offers Piano and Music Theory tuition on Mondays and Thursdays
afternoon/evenings and Saturday mornings.
Piano tutor and accompanist, Andrea Lockwood has been teaching since she was at secondary school, gaining her Grade 8 at 13 years old.
At the age of 7 Andrea started to learn the Piano with instruction from Paul Turner ARAM, GRSM (Hons), LRAM, ARCM and started
singing lessons at age 8 with Janice Thompson MA LRAM ATCL.
Andrea is currently a Piano teacher with the Swindon Music Cooperative at Ridgeway Secondary and Sixth Form, Wroughton
Juniors and Redoaks Juniors, Covingham Juniors, Ferndale Juniors, Holy Cross and Holy Family Juniors Schools and is an Assistant Teacher and Accompanist with the Janice Thompson Performance Trust, a role which she has held with the Trust for 10 years.
Andrea will provide students with a really friendly and encouraging Piano and Music Theory lessons. which will allow students to access higher level practical exams and enjoys teaching sight reading and aural tests at all levels.
Specialising in composition having majored in the subject in her music degree at Bath Spa University, Andrea is able to guide you through all of your performance grades from pre Grade 1 to Grade 8 with London College, Trinity and ABRSM exam boards and is really looking forward to introducing you all to the piano as a beginner or someone more experienced.
